Which copy do you have?
Newsstand vs. direct edition
Copies sold in comic shops (the direct edition) are the most common. Copies sold at newsstands carry a UPC barcode and are much scarcer, so in top grades they usually sell for more than direct copies.
First vs. second printing
Marvel went back to press for a second printing, with a different-colored cover. A second printing sells for a fraction of a first printing in the same grade, so check that you have the original 1992 first printing before you compare prices.

Why is Amazing Spider-Man #361 worth so much?
Amazing Spider-Man #361 is the first full appearance of Carnage: the serial killer Cletus Kasady bonded to the offspring of the Venom symbiote. David Michelinie wrote it and Mark Bagley drew it. Carnage first shows up in a cameo in #360, but #361 is the issue collectors treat as the key.

Is the newsstand edition worth more?
Usually yes, in top grades. Newsstand copies have a UPC barcode and are much scarcer than direct-edition copies.
